IV Sedation
Conscious sedation is a safe and highly effective way to help nervous patients feel calm during dental treatment.
It’s also ideal for those undergoing longer or more complex procedures who would simply prefer a more comfortable experience.
You remain awake, but deeply relaxed. Many patients feel as though they’ve slept through their appointment, with little or no memory of the procedure afterwards. Time feels shorter. Worries don’t escalate. Treatment becomes manageable.
It can prevent people from visiting the dentist for the care they need, which can, over time, lead to discomfort, infection and even dentures.
Sedation helps to break that cycle.
With the right support, even patients who’ve avoided the dentist for years find themselves able to receive treatment calmly and comfortably, without fear, judgement or embarrassment.
A small cannula is placed in your arm or hand (numbing cream can be used if needed). The sedative begins working within seconds, creating a deep sense of relaxation. Throughout your treatment, the level of sedation is carefully monitored and adjusted to keep you comfortable and safe.
After your appointment, you’ll feel drowsy and will need to rest at home. Most patients sleep for a few hours and remember very little of the procedure.
