Welcoming You Back – Patient Information Pack31st July 2020
Thank you for your continued loyalty and support during these past months, which we know have been difficult ones.
As life begins to return to some normality, we want to reassure you that we’re continuing to do everything we can to keep you and our staff safe while still providing the quality care and great service we aspire to deliver
We are continuing to implement guidance produced by our governing bodies, cleaning rigorously and have taken steps to ensure that we have made personal protective equipment, such as masks, visors and gloves, available to all our team.
In our email on 5th June, we said we would update you when we believe it is right to start expanding the services we deliver. We are therefore pleased to write to outline that we have recently taken further steps to increase the provision of our services being offered at the practice.
A gradual resumption of face-to-face routine dental care
It’s been over 6 weeks since we reopened the door to the practice. In this time, we have steadily been progressing the number and range of appointments we are offering. This transition has seen us move from delivering urgent care only towards restarting more routine care, including dental check-ups and previously postponed non-urgent treatment. We are very thankful to all our team members who have worked tirelessly to allow us to safely return to providing more routine care.
Whilst we are pleased to announce that we are returning to delivering more routine care, we do kindly ask you to remain patient. With the imposed restrictions due to social distancing requirements, increased infection prevention needs and enforced ‘fallow time’ after aerosol generating procedures, we can still only currently safely welcome back a reduced number of patients each day.
Our reception team are working incredibly hard to work through our lists and invite those patients who we have unfortunately had to cancel appointments for over the last few months. We would also welcome you to contact us in order to have your appointments rescheduled.
Due to the aerosol generating nature of hygiene appointments using ultrasonic scalers, we are still having to reduce and modify our current hygiene provision during the current COVID-19 alert level. We have taken the decision to prioritise our patients with heightened hygiene care needs at present and are only offering hand scaling to help us reduce the amount of aerosol generated in appointments.
We are reviewing the guidance and COVID alert level frequently to assess when it is safe to reintroduce our ultrasonic scalers and airflow techniques. Once we feel it is again safe to reintroduce ultrasonic scaling, we will be increasing our provision of hygiene appointments in order to support our patients who have had hygiene appointments previously postponed.
We are so grateful for all the kind words of support we have received since reopening and for your continued patience. We look forward to seeing you in our practice again soon.
With very best wishes,
Paul, Vinnie, Doug, Charlie and the EPDP Team
Euston Place Dental Practice.
Every decision we have made and step we have taken has been with a focus on the safety of you, our colleagues and clinicians.
