Coronavirus Update – 8th April 2020

Dear Patients,

We hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well. The current health crisis touches all of us – you, our valued patients; our staff; and the public at large.

It’s been two weeks since we were advised to close our doors and down our tools to safeguard the health of our patients and staff members. We wrote to you then to let you know about some of the things we were doing differently. As the situation progresses, we wanted to give you an update on how we are continuing to support the oral health our patients.

 

Here for you when you need us

We’re still here if you need us. During our usual opening hours, you can still speak to our reception team by calling us on 01926 422509. If you are struggling to get through please remember that you can also email us on [email protected] or leave us an answerphone message. We will endeavour to respond to your message within 24 hours of receipt.

 

Telephone Triage Service

We have continued to stay open to provide a telephone triage service for our patients. Our dentists will be available between 9am and 8pm, 7 days a week to give advice, recommend pain relief and provide prescription of antimicrobials where appropriate.

COVID – symptomatic and self-isolating patients who require access to emergency are advised to call NHS 111 to be dealt with in a suitable designated location.

 

Provision of Prescription Antibiotics

We are pleased to announce that we have worked closely with H.B Dunns pharmacy in Leamington Spa to agree a method of dispensing prescription medication for our patients with emergency care requirements during this period of closure. If prescription medication is recommended, you will now be able to collect this from the pharmacy following consultation with one of our dental team.

 

Providing First Aid for Teeth

We have sourced a limited number of emergency dental kit’s to provide to our patients in times of need. These kits can help to dress broken teeth, fix dislodged fillings and inlays and repair broken crowns or bridges. Where appropriate and following a call with one of our dentists, we will aim to provide a delivery of these kits to those who may benefit during this period of lockdown.

 

Keeping our patients informed

We will continue to regularly update our website, Instagram and facebook pages with helpful information, practice news and blog posts. Please visit our website or follow our social media accounts to receive a mixture of informative, insightful and sometimes humorous articles from the practice team.

 

Supporting our community

Last week, we proudly donated surgical facemasks to our local Warwick Hospital following an urgent request for support. Over 20 boxes of surgical masks were gifted to the hospital to help to combat the shortage of appropriate PPE in our overwhelmed hospitals. This week, we will look to support the COVID-19 response further by donating our currently unused oxygen cylinders.

 

Supporting our staff

Finally, we are pleased to announce that we have made a commitment to all of our practice team to ensure that they remain in employment with us throughout this challenging period of closure.
