As we work our way into the 7th week of lockdown, we continue to review the way we serve our patients whilst our doors remain ‘physically’ shut. We wrote to you a few weeks back to highlights some of the key changes to the provision of our dentistry during this crisis. Whilst the guidance from both the Chief Dental Officer and the UK Government advice remains unchanged, we felt it was important to remind our patients of how we are still here for your dental needs via our remote emergency triage appointments, stock delivery service and information support offering.
Emergency Telephone Triage Service
We are continuing to provide a remote emergency telephone triage service for our patient’s with urgent dental care needs. If you have an urgent dental problem, our dentists are available for telephone consultations during normal practice hours. Additionally, our emergency out of hours phoneline remains open until 8pm, 7 days a week to give advice, recommend pain relief and provide prescription of antimicrobials whilst routine dentistry is being deferred.
We are pleased to have recently received guidance that urgent dental care centres have now been set up in Warwickshire to provide emergency face to face dentistry where truly necessary if your condition cannot be managed remotely by our dental team. These designated centres have been separated into ‘hot’ and ‘cold’ sites to ensure that all patients whether shielding, symptomatic, at increased risk or at low risk, are seen in a safe and appropriate environment for their needs.
Free Contactless Stock Delivery Service
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are offering a free contactless delivery service for the range of dental products we stock at the practice. Our stock items include a range of mouthwashes, toothpastes, toothbrushes, interdental cleaning aids and denture cleansers.
The offer of delivery will apply to any of our patients who live in Leamington spa, Warwick and the local surrounding area. For our patients who live further afield, we are happy to arrange for the collection of the items. If you wish to enquire about the purchase or delivery of any of our stock items, please contact our reception team. Payment will be taken over the phone and delivery will be organised with 5 working days.

Supporting our vulnerable patients
In the coming weeks our team will be aiming to reach out to many of our vulnerable patient group who were due appointments during this period of lockdown. We hope these phone calls will give our patients an opportunity to express any dental health concerns they may have, to receive updates about the provision of dentistry at the practice – and even to provide a set of ears to listen if you need it.
