Coronavirus Update – 22nd May 202022nd May 2020
We are approaching the date which marks 2 months since the Chief Dental Officer for England issued a requirement for dental Practices to “stop all non-urgent dental activity in line with changes to people’s everyday lives”. This included, amongst other issues, the immediate cessation of “all routine, non-urgent dental care including orthodontics, until advised otherwise.
As owners of the Euston Place Dental Practice, we have always place great emphasis on the health, safety and wellbeing of our patients and team members, and have subsequently continued to follow the guidance of the CDO and other regulatory governing bodies and keep our doors physically shut. We will therefore continue to follow this guidance until we have been guided otherwise, which to this point, has not been issued.
We are however extremely aware of the ever-increasing dental needs of our practice members and therefore wanted to stress that we still aim to be here for our patients in need of urgent dental care. Our remote triage service will continue to provide patients in need with the three A’s where applicable (advice, analgesics and antibiotics). Where this method of treatment proves not to be effective, referrals to designated urgent dental care centres are available within Warwickshire for the safe provisions of face to face treatment.
In the meantime, whilst we await further news on the reopening of dental services in England, we will continue to prepare the practice for the safe return of our patients and team members.
We would like to thank you all again your patience and support during this pandemic and look forward to contacting you once we have been given the green light to return.
With very best wishes,
Paul, Vinnie, Doug, Charlie and the EPDP Team
